We set sail from Shotley Marina on 20 May 2025, beginning our epic anticlockwise voyage around Britain via the Caledonian Canal. After much debate, we chose this route to take advantage of the prevailing winds and so Svea could stretch her legs every evening in a marina, while Pete enjoyed a well-earned pint! Along the way, we sampled local ales, visited yacht clubs, explored scenic walking trails, and uncovered the best dog-friendly bars, cafés, and shops. Each of the 46 stops are reviewed below.
