This was a quick hop from Blyth. Amble, nestled on Northumberland’s picturesque coast, is a delightful destination for dog owners, offering a blend of maritime charm, dog-friendly establishments, and scenic walks. Pete visited the castle, several pubs, and the yacht club in order to conduct full reviews. Many of the Amble locals showered Svea with treats and bought Pete a pint or two - hence the blurred pictures, apologies. This stop at Amble was far too short... we will be back. Lines slipped at 09:00 this morning for Eyemouth with the repaired jib ready to go. Scotland, here we come!

🐾 Dog-Friendly Cafés & Pubs in Amble

Amble boasts several establishments where your canine companion is warmly welcomed:

  • The Amble Inn: Located on Sandpiper Way, this inn offers dog-friendly rooms and designated areas in the pub where dogs can relax. They provide water bowls and complimentary treats for four-legged guests.

  • The Old Boathouse: Situated by the harbour, this relaxed eatery is known for its seafood dishes and dog-friendly policy, allowing dogs in specific areas.

  • The Masons Arms: A traditional pub on Woodbine Street, welcoming dogs and offering a cozy atmosphere.

  • The Harbour Inn: Located at 23 Leazes Street, this family-friendly restaurant and bar serves fresh food with sea views. While specific dog policies aren't detailed, many coastal establishments in Amble are accommodating to dogs.

⛵ Yacht Clubs & Marina

For sailing enthusiasts, Amble offers excellent facilities:

  • Coquet Yacht Club (CYC): Located on The Braid, CYC offers a vibrant sailing calendar, social events, and a clubhouse with river views. They welcome new members and visitors alike.

  • Amble Boat Club: Situated on the River Coquet estuary, this club caters to various boating activities, including yacht cruising and day sailing.

  • Amble Marina: A family-run marina providing over 250 berths, offering comprehensive facilities for boaters. Svea was made very welome.

🌿 Dog-Friendly Walks

Amble's coastal location provides numerous walking opportunities for you and your dog:

  • Amble Harbour & Pier: A scenic walk along the harbour offers views of the marina and sea, with plenty of spots for your dog to explore.

  • Hauxley Nature Reserve: A short hop from Amble, this reserve offers trails through diverse habitats. Dogs are welcome on leads to protect wildlife.

  • Warkworth Beach: Located nearby, this expansive beach is perfect for dogs to run and play, especially during off-peak seasons.

Pete was sorry to say goodbye to Amble. Until next time ...
